Main text | Most Humble Report! In continuation of my most humble report dated February 28th last, I now have the honor to report that judgment has been rendered in the case against those free coloreds who were indicted for mob gathering, etc., etc. The judgment and the sentence have been transmitted in writing of today’s date to the Royal Danish Chancellery, a copy of which correspondence I most humbly include. I have, in the reported correspondence, elaborated upon the reasons which have compelled me, a council directive dating back a considerable time not withstanding, to repatriate the prisoners and I entertain the hope that my methods may meet with Your Majesty’s most high applause. I consider it my most humble duty to ask for Your Royal Majesty’s particular attention to this case, the impact of which upon the Colonies can become most damaging or most beneficial, but will never be without consequence. |

Main text | Most humble declaration upon the application by citizen Canvanes for his natural son. It may well seem that the considerable youth of Peter Canvanes could be taken into consideration for reduction of the punishment which according to the circumstances had to be meted out, it should be noted, however, as it is also stated in the judgment of the commission, that just as the body, in tropical climates, develops sooner, so does the character also sooner develop pronounced characteristics. |
